How to Fix 'deployment crash during development' in LangChain (Python)
A deployment crash during development in LangChain usually means your app is failing before the chain or agent can finish initializing. In practice, this shows up when a dependency mismatch, bad model configuration, or an invalid tool/chain setup causes the Python process to exit during startup or first request.
The annoying part is that the crash often looks like a deployment problem, but the root cause is usually in your LangChain code or environment config.
The Most Common Cause
The #1 cause is using deprecated LangChain classes or old import paths after upgrading packages. LangChain has split a lot of functionality into separate packages, and older code can fail with errors like:

ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'langchain_community' - •

Other Possible Causes
1) Missing or invalid API key
If your deployment crashes immediately, check whether the environment variable exists in that runtime. A common error is:
