How to Integrate OpenAI for fintech with AWS Lambda for startups

Integration Steps
1) Create a Lambda execution role

This is the core integration point. Lambda receives an event, OpenAI processes it, and your function returns a machine-readable result.
3) Package and deploy the function to AWS Lambda
Deploy from Python using boto3. In production, you’d usually zip your code and dependencies separately or use a container image.

If you’re using external dependencies like openai, package them into the deployment artifact or move to a Lambda layer/container image. The code above shows the deployment flow; production packaging needs those dependencies included.
4) Invoke the function from another service or workflow
Once deployed, call it through AWS Lambda’s invoke API from your agent orchestrator, backend service, or scheduled job.
