A note on regulations: if you’re in consumer lending in the US, treat ECOA/Reg B as core design constraints even if they were not listed above. If you serve healthcare-adjacent financing products where patient data appears in documents or collections workflows, HIPAA may enter the picture. For global portfolios you also need GDPR for personal data handling and retention. Basel III matters more on the capital/risk side for banks than for fintech lenders, but your risk team will still care about exposure concentration and stress behavior.
