LangChain vs Elasticsearch for fintech: Which Should You Use?
LangChain and Elasticsearch solve different problems. LangChain is an orchestration layer for building LLM applications; Elasticsearch is a search and retrieval engine built for indexing, querying, and filtering large datasets.
For fintech, use Elasticsearch for deterministic search, auditability, and low-latency retrieval. Add LangChain only when you need LLM-driven workflows on top of that data.

Then put LangChain on top only where language matters: support copilots, internal analyst assistants, document Q&A over policies or contracts. In fintech production systems, Elasticsearch is the foundation; LangChain is the interface layer when you actually need an LLM to talk back.
